Construction defect alert! Product smells (Stinks) and the exterior is not waterproof. The exterior material did not withstand the winter rains because they used interior building materials on the exterior. See photos of 99.9% moisture readings behind the walls.

We also had a hidden leaking interior shower water line. MB did fix that leak but the unit still smells because they have failed to remove all damaged product. (The interior plumbing failed because they had installed a pex clamp backwards).

The unit stinks from both the interior and exterior water intrusion and they have failed to mitigate the smell and failed to replace the exterior. Almost every feature of the installation and unit was wrong, needed repair or broke.

Do you want to deal with a non-responsive company for many years to come? I can certainly guarantee that MB will ignore you for months and months at a time.

We were one of their earlier units, and I was very patient with them through the process while they essentially worked out all the kinks on us. I have had my unit in place since December 2020, and it seems that every few months there is a breakdown of something new. They used to be really responsive because they were trying to establish themselves, but I have come to understand that they now operate out of Mexico and don't have boots on the ground here anymore, and have essentially moved on.

Everything Gina's post mentions about the defects is true. Last year's rains, it rained into the unit because they used internal material externally and it couldn't withstand the rain. I asked them to make sure there was no mold under the floorboards, they assured me there was not. I started to notice moisture coming from under the boards and reached out again about it. They sent someone out finally, he was in my unit for no more than 10 minutes, said he needed more info, and I never heard from him or Mighty Buildings after that. I have missed out on so many rental opportunities while in limbo waiting for them to respond, repair, or replace something waaay too many times. I'm beyond frustrated at this point.

Another thing, randomly they came by to "check" the solar panels they installed when they set my unit up. Just a "courtesy" they said. Come to find out, they had never been connected. So all this time I'm trying to understand why our bill had essentially doubled when we rented out the space, it's because both my house AND the unit were operating at full capacity with no relief from the solar panels. Complete waste of money for a full year plus.

Just one thing after the next. Gave me appliances that they bought at the beginning of the project. Most warranties had expired within months of the unit being fully installed.

It's a beautiful space aesthetically. I get so many cool points, but 100% would have said no thanks had I known then what I know now. Definitely isn't worth the stress and all the back and forth.

I can only share where we are "so far" in the process, but we are very pleased with the company so far. Chao has been very responsive with our questions and concerns and we were even able to do a socially distanced appointment to view the models and see what might work for us. What stood out to us was the quality of the units. Earthquake proof to 9.0, the ability to upgrade with solar panels, and the overall modern and beautiful design components. We will be moving forward with the project, and I will update my review once I have more to report! Very excited for this!
